ThinMan Profile allows an automatic configuration of a device through the use of policies defined for:
- Single devices
- Groups of devices
- Devices belonging to a classifier
- Single user logged on the device (see How to protect the Thin Client with ThinMan Login)
It also allows to configure devices to use the Active Directory Server (to configure AD Server read Options - LDAP Server Configuration) for authentication, enhancing the overall level of security of the infrastructure (see How to protect the Thin Client with ThinMan Login).
The Profiles Manager is displayed on the Tree Area of the ThinMan console (if the tree does not turn up, see ThinMan Access Control for a detailed description of service configuration).
Profile Manager and Protocol Communication
Only devices correctly configured to point the ThinMan Server (see How to Setup ThinMan Address on Thin Client) can be used with the Profile Manager.
Zero Config and Roaming Profile
ThinMan Profile Manager is central to the implementation of the Zero Config mode and Roaming Profile.
Three concepts lie at the bottom of ThinMan Profile Manager:

Configuration Profile can be:
- Configuration Profile for Device: it is directly imported from a saved template and give access to a whole set of Thin Client configuration settings including network, user interface, security, global parameters for connections and so forth. Once created, these Profiles can be quickly delivered to all thin clients in an automatic process.
- Connection Profile for User: this, instead, contains all the information related to the Thin Client connections (Citrix, RDP, VMware, Browser) which are extracted from a previously saved template.

User Policy: it determines which Configuration Profile for User must be applied to specific users.

Device Policy: it determines which Configuration Profile for Device must be applied to specific devices.
