Version 1.4.2
The Berry thin client model(B91-VDI model) is based on "Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+" hardware (Raspberry Pi 4 is still not supported)
Due to the hardware, some features are not supported. These limitations are:
The Ubuntu Mate O.S. provided with the device is not the same as a standard ThinOX O.S. Due to this, there are some software issues:
Praim ThinOX add-ons (e.g.: like touch screen add-on or like Citrix HDX add-on) are not available in the Berry environment.
The Ubuntu Mate O.S. can be fully customizable and integrated, by you, with third-party software, drivers and so on, because it is based on an open-source OS as the Ubuntu Mate.
This page provides information to get started with the Praim Berry thin client (B91-VDI thin client model or Agile4Pi software) based on the Raspberry hardware. It describes essential thin client features and gives you instructions on how to setup the thin client environment.
Remind that the operating system mounted on the Praim Berry device is the Ubuntu Mate. On the OS it is also preinstalled the Praim Agile Configurator. You can find all the information about Agile and Ubuntu Mate at these links:
NOTE
The Berry thin client is comparable, regarding functionalities and configuration, to a typical computer running an Ubuntu Mate operating system.
Connection with ThinMan
If you are using the ThinMan Software to manage the devices, be sure to let the devices point to the ThinMan Server. Read more at Agile: Configuring the ThinMan Settings.
The Berry thin client is initially configured with one user in the Ubuntu Mate O.S.:
After powering on a Praim Berry thin client, it will ask for the password of the admin user.
To access all Praim settings, you can smoothly run the Agile Configurator.
It is placed on the upper left corner of the desktop. Just double-click it.
Additionally, you can find it in the Applications → System Tools menu.
Once launched enter the admin credentials.
For more information, read the Agile Guide.
The network configuration is initially set in this way:
You can change this default configuration setting, by accessing the menu placed in the upper right part of the desktop, the one with the up and down arrow, and select the Edit Connections... menu voice. For more information refer to the Ubuntu Mate wiki at this link https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/tips-tutorials-and-guides-index/14519.
WiFi Connections
Remind that the WiFi connection can be easily configured and edited using the Agile Configurator in the Network Settings panel. Using this approach, you can quickly distribute the WiFi configuration parameters to many other devices with the ThinMan software. For more information read the page Use ThinMan Profile and Policy to send configuration automatically.
Essential connection clients are available. With the Praim Agile configurator and the Agile Advanced User Interfaces is easy to configure the device for a VDI environment.
Use the Power button on the device to shut down the thin client.
You can also click the menu System → Shut Down.
... then select the operation that has to be performed, Restart, Shut Down or Cancel the operation.
To log out the user or to change the user, select the System → Log Out voice menu.
