Agile and ThinMan work seamlessly together to manage devices with Agile installed.
After configuring a single device, the next key question is: How can this configuration be applied to other devices?
The most efficient way to deploy configurations across multiple devices automatically is by using ThinMan along with the ThinMan Profile Manager.
To use the ThinMan Profile Manager, the devices you want to configure must point to the ThinMan server. For more information, read how to configure the ThinMan Settings.
To ensure that the devices are correctly linked to the ThinMan Server, open the ThinMan Console and check that the Notified parameter displays WSS.
Right-click on the device that you had previously configured, and select the menu Offline Configurations -> Receive from Device.
This operation reads the configuration from the device and stores it into the ThinMan Server.
To be sure that the configuration was successfully executed, please read the parameter Offline Configuration of the device in the console, it has to be Yes followed by the family of the configuration (e.g. Yes - Family Agile).
Right-click on the device that you had previously configured, and select the menu Offline Configuration -> Add new Device Policy".
Insert a name on the Create Policy Wizard (e.g. default_agile_device) and click on OK.
Extend the Profile tree (click on the + sign), you will find:
Right-click on the created Device Policy and select the menu Properties....
Select the classes, groups of devices, or individual devices that you want to be automatically configured with the newly created profile.
Click on OK to save the Policy.
The Profile Manager assigns the Device Profile, specifically the Configuration Set, during the device startup process. Ensure that all devices associated with the policy are rebooted, or wait for users to reboot them.
Upon the next startup, each device linked to the policy will receive the appropriate configuration.
You can reboot devices through ThinMan either manually using the contextual menu (see Contextual Menu - Power On Off Reboot (remind that you can select multiple devices using the CTRL/SHIFT + Left mouse click) or automatically using a Scheduled Activiy/Event Activity.
After the reboot, a device will have the Device Profile Status set to Applied, indicating that the configuration has been successfully delivered.
