In order to achieve the full potential of device management through ThinMan, it is necessary to configure each device you want to manage to point the ThinMan Server.
This configuration could be achieved in two different modes:
Manually: You need to do it on each device by accessing to it, going to the ThinMan Configuration Panel and specifying on it the name/address of the ThinMan Server. For more information, read How to setup ThinMan Address on a device
Using the network Manual configuration could be really time consuming if you have lots of devices to manage. Praim strongly suggest to use either the DHCP server or the DNS server.
ThinMan Address Hostname:
Starting from ThinMan 8.0, the default ThinMan Address Hostname used to contact ThinMan changed from PRAIM_THINMAN to PRAIMSERVER. We suggest to add a new DNS record for the host PRAIMSERVER referring to the ThinMan IP address.
Configuring your environment to use the network parameters will allow brand out-of-the-box devices attached to the network connecting to the ThinMan Server automatically.
