This chapter describes the configuration parameters for the ThinOX thin clients; these will be referred to as Settings. The Settings window is the equivalent of the Control Panel on a Windows-based PC; it allows you to configure the various operating parameters of the terminal.
The Settings window is displayed as a tabbed dialog, where each page corresponds to a particular group of settings:
Depending on the device model and on the "Terminal Mode" the way to access the configuration menu could be different.
The following paragraphs describe the terminal configuration parameters in detail.
If the device is protected by a password then the password has to be entered to access the Settings window. In this case, it is also possible to allow the user to change some configuration, see Security for more information.
On the bottom-right side of the screen, there are some useful pieces of information regarding the device such as hostname, IP Address, MAC Address, Serial number, firmware Version and thin client Model.
There are two different methods to access the Settings window when the "User Interface" is set to "Desktop" (see "User Interface" paragraph under User Interface chapter).
The first is to right-click on the desktop and, from the contextual menu, select the "Setting" entry.
The second is to click the gears icon placed in the taskbar. This will open the "Settings" window.
There are two different methods to access the Settings window when the "User Interface" is set to "WBT/Kiosk" (see "User Interface" paragraph under User Interface chapter).
Press CTRL + ALT + END on the Keyboard to open the "Connection Manager" (if it is not already opened). Then press "F2" to open the "Settings" window.
