¶ Update Files
A Windows10 IoT 2016 Praim device can be updated in different ways.

Praim Service Pack allows updating:
- Drivers.
- Registry keys.
- Praim Agile.

Praim Hotfix allows updating:
- Security for Windows.

Agile Update (Agile4PC) allows updating:
- Praim Agile.

Format Files - Important!
On the download section of MyPraim you will find the Praim Hotfix and Agile Update files in 2 formats:
- .EXE files: to be used directly on a device.
- .PAR files: to be used from the ThinMan console.
While the Praim Service Pack is available only in .PAR format.
The upgrade file can be installed in two different ways:
- Manually on the thin client: using the .EXE file (use a USB Mass Storage key/disk or a shared directory on the network to copy it), read below for more details.
- Through ThinMan: using the .PAR file. See either Contextual Menu - Device Update for Windows for manual installation or Scheduled Activities and Event Activities for automatic installation.
¶ Installing the upgrade file manually on the Thin Client

Access the Thin Client as Admin; otherwise, the Admin password will be asked when starting the update process.

Disable the Write Filter (see Using the Write Filter for more information) before executing the installer manually

Execute the update file.

Enable the Write Filter at the end of the installation phase. This good practice will maintain a clean installation of the thin client.
