¶ ThinMan Trial license activation
Follow the instructions given on the ThinMan Trial Package - ThinMan License section.
¶ ThinMan Trial license expiration alert
During the trial time, everytime ThinMan console startups or at least once a day, the below expiring alert will be displayed showing a count down for the trial period expiration.
¶ ThinMan license activation or upgrade
You can activate your own license importing a .lic file.
Start the "import license file" procedure from the windows that appears at the first startup after a successful installation.
You can also activate your license or upgrade it using the Tools → ThinMan License menu.
The License Manager window will open.
Before continuing please make sure you have the license file available (file with ".lic" extension).
VERY IMPORTANT
In order to renew your license it is necessary to upgrade ThinMan to version 8.
Click on "Import License file" button, select your *.lic file and press "OK". This operation will install the license file on the ThinMan Server.
¶ ThinMan license expiration alert
After ThinMan license is activated or updated, everytime ThinMan console startups or at least once a day, ThinMan checks license expiration and displays an alert message (as depicted below) when at least one of the licensed components is expired or will expire in 30 days showing a related count down for each distinct component.
You can open the License Manager or continue closing the expiration alert.
¶ License Status Check
To check the license status you can:
- Access the ThinMan License Manager;
- Look at the continuous product license display box.

For a complete overview of your license status select Tools → ThinMan License menu.
The ThinMan License Manager window above shows the specific information about the installed license with its own specific expiration time.
Clicking on the "Set your license online" will open the myPraim site. For more information about how to request the renewal of your ThinMan licenses, purchase new ones and add Feature Packs, click on the image below.
¶ Continuous product license display box
On the notification area of ThinMan local and remote console, placed near of the bottom right corner of the ThinMan windows, is present the continuous product license display box.
Inside this box, every 15 seconds, ThinMan displays cyclically the number of license in use and its expiration date status for each of the licensed components present in the listed devices.
The message may be displayed in three different colors depending on the expiration date.
- black message: the reported license is going to expire longer than 30 days;
- orange message: the license the reported license is going to expire in 30 days;
- red message: the licence is already expired.
