The Wired Interface applet allows configuring the parameters for the Ethernet wired connection.
Multiple Ethernet Card
If you have multiple Ethernet cards on your device you will find multiple icons named eth0, eth1... and so on. Every icon allows configuring the single Ethernet card.
Enable Wired interface eth0: flag this parameter to use the Ethernet port on the device
Address: select:
- From DHCP: if your network is configured to use a DHCP server. The DHCP server will, in general, automatically provide the terminal with an IP address, a network mask, a gateway and the DNS servers.
- Static: if you will manually insert the IP address of the Ethernet card.
If you select Static then enter these settings:
- IP Address: enter the IP address of the terminal in this field
- Subnet Mask: enter the subnet mask for the terminal in this field
- Default Gateway: enter the IP address of the server which routes traffic to and from the local network of the Ethernet card
- Broadcast: enter the broadcast IP address for the subnet.
Mode: users can decide modes to use Ethernet cards defining specific speed and level of symmetry of data exchanged.
MTU parameter determines the maximum size for IP packets.
¶ DHCP Logs
It allows viewing the log file created during the DHCP negotiation.
¶ DHCP Leases
It allows viewing the DHCP configuration received from the server.
¶ DHCP Renew
Renegotiate the network configuration with the DHCP server.
