Exit from Desktop Presentation Mode
To exit Desktop Presentation Mode, you need to sign out from the DesktopUser session. You can do this by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL or by selecting Sign Out from the Windows start menu.
After signing out, you will be redirected to the login screen, displaying all available Windows user accounts. Remember that Praim thin clients come pre-configured with two user accounts: User and Admin.
The Desktop mode closely resembles a traditional Windows desktop, displaying all configured resources directly on the desktop with an accessible, hidden side menu (see image below).
Though with certain restrictions: the TaskBar is present, but all its customization options are disabled; Windows contextual menus are blocked; direct access to certain system folders, search tools, and pinned applications in the Windows menu is restricted. Actions that could allow access to running programs or the filesystem are limited (see image below).
Certain features can be customized through the Specific Settings button, including options related to taskbar widgets, icons on the desktop, logo and available applications.
Click on the Specific Settings button.
The audio, battery and network taskbar widgets can be configured to be displayed or hidden.
- Unlock Network settings on taskbar
- Unlock Audio settings on taskbar
- Unlock Battery settings on taskbar
When the above options are selected, the network/audio/battery will be displayed as shown on the image below.
Otherwise, they will no appear among the taskbar widgets.

- Settings as icons on Desktop: when enabled, the Settings, Power Options and Info buttons will appear directly on the desktop, as shown in the image below. This option is recommended if the side menu interferes with other applications, such as when using a virtual desktop in full-screen mode.

- Settings before Resources: when selected the Settings, Power Options and Info buttons will be displayed before the resources buttons.

- Launch mode: select whether you want to launch a resource with Double click or Single click.
- Icon Size: select the size of the desktop icons (small, medium, big)
- Icons Positioning: select how you want to display the icons (horizontal, vertical)
- Logo Position: select where you want to display the logo (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right)
- Logo Width: define the maximum width that the logo can occupied.
- Logo Height: define the maximum height that the logo can occupied.
The original proportion between width and height will be maintained.
- Restrict Run: when selected, it is possible to list a group of applications that can be executed even in the absence of Windows explorer.
- Exceptions List: this is the list of applications you would like to be available to the end user. You can either select the application executable file or the application folder.
